Get to Know the Council for Professional Recognition

Council for Professional Recognition logo4C for Children will welcome Dr. Valora Washington, CEO of the Council for Professional Recognition, as the Saturday morning keynote speaker of the 4C Leadership and Early Childhood Conference, presented by Positive Leaps, on October 27.

“I’m so excited to be a keynote speaker at the 4C Grow the Good—Cultivating a Powerful Profession conference Oct. 26-27. I look forward to seeing you at this wonderful event. 4C NKY Team Leader Appointed to Governor’s Advisory Council

4c NKY Team Leader Sandra WoodallSandra Woodall has been appointed by Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin to a three-year term on the Kentucky Child Care Advisory Council. Woodall serves as a team leader in 4C for Children’s Quality Programs department and leads the 4C for Children Northern Kentucky team based in Covington. Kim Chiodi and Dr. O'dell Owens4C for Children will honor Kim Chiodi and Dr. O’dell Owens as Champions for Children at the 13th annual Champions for Children Gala on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at JACK Cincinnati Casino. In addition, 4C will present the Sallie Westheimer Community Impact Award posthumously to the family of Dr. Dorothy June Sciarra, a longtime leader in early childhood education in the region. Tour de Gem4C for Children is excited to host a team at the inaugural Tour de Gem, Dayton Cycling Classic on September 2 at Fifth Third Plaza in downtown Dayton.  Tour de Gem is a charity cycling event to highlight the Dayton region for cyclists of all ages and abilities. Big Day for 25 Child Care Providers

July 26, 2018

Step Up Express Childcare ProvidersIn Southwest Ohio on May 1, there were:

  • 743 Family Child Care providers who serve more than 8,000 children
  • Of those 743, a mere 74 were Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) quality rated, with most taking a year or more to achieve a quality star.

4C for Children Partners With AmeriCorps Public Allies to Serve Families

Americorps Public Allies4C for Children has had the benefit of some extra help since last September, thanks to AmeriCorps Public Allies. Public Ally Quratulain Sami has been researching the issue of homelessness, how it affects children in our community and ways families and child care providers can be better supported.
