This Month’s Hot Topic: Summer Safety
Keep your children safe and healthy this summer while they learn through play—at the playground or your backyard swing set, out on the hiking trail, swimming and more. Here are some resources:
- A checklist of six things to keep your child safe while at the pool, from Safe Kids Worldwide
- Getting children outside while social distancing, from HealthyChildren.org
- Playground safety tips to consider, from KidsHealth.org
New! Quality Child Care Checklist
Finding the right child care fit for you and your child can feel like an overwhelming task.
One of the ways the 4C for Children Family & Community Services team has made it easier is by creating a checklist of questions you can ask.
If possible contact several programs and use the checklist questions as an interview resource. Download the checklist.
Federal Child Care Action Alert!
U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott, and U.S. Sen. Patty Murray recently introduced the Child Care Is Essential Act (H.R.7027/S.3874) that would create a $50 billion Child Care Stabilization Fund within the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG), providing critical support to families, child care providers, and our state’s economy.
