Child care providers: You are essential! We are pleased to see the recognition of your amazing efforts through Gov. DeWine’s Hero Pay initiative. As shared by ODJFS, child care providers may be eligible for Hero Pay, dating back to October 2020 and through September 2021. You can receive $300 per quarter up to a total of $1,200. For the past several weeks, 4C for Children has worked with members of the Cincinnati City Council to advocate for additional support for and expansion of child care programs in the community. As a result, $1 million of the approximately $279 million American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) federal stimulus funds earmarked for Cincinnati have been allocated to a Child Care Startup Fund, which would provide critical resources and start-up funding for potential child care providers. PD Biennium Deadline Approaches
The current professional development (PD) biennium comes to an end on June 30, 2021. As of May 1, 2021 there are only 60 days left! This means all administrators, lead teachers, assistant teachers and family child care providers working in a SUTQ star-rated program must have completed 20 hours of Ohio Approved training by June 30. Failure to meet the deadline will result in loss of your program’s Step Up To Quality rating and contract to provide care to children receiving the Publicly Funded Child Care subsidy.
