4C for Children is celebrating 50 years of service with a series of events that intend to recognize local community leaders and volunteers who have helped make strides in the field of early childhood education.
Founded in 1972 in Cincinnati, Ohio, by a coalition of agencies and funders with the purpose of coordinating, planning, and advocating for quality child care for working families, 4C for Children has been powering early care and education for the past five decades. Today, 4C for Children is the designated child care resource and referral agency for a 15-county area in Southwest Ohio and the Miami Valley.
“The entire 4C for Children team is delighted to not only celebrate this milestone but recognize the many people who have supported this organization and our mission of educating and supporting adults who care for young children,” says Vanessa Freytag, president & CEO, 4C for Children.
The organization is saluting the milestone anniversary with a series of events and community engagements:
- 2022 4C for Children Champions Gala: A Masquerade Under the Stars Saturday, October 8 at Cincinnati Music Hall: This special event will celebrate the organization’s 50th anniversary by honoring 50 early childhood education champions who have made an impact on young children and families in our community over the decades.
- Securing the Future 50: The $50 for 50 Years Fundraising for the Future Campaign: This fundraising campaign will invite donors to create a unique fundraising page that can be shared via email, text, and social media. The goal for this fall campaign is to inspire the next generation of advocates who will carry the torch of ensuring access to quality child care, early development, and learning for every young child in our community.
- Farewell to 50 – A Year-End Celebration: Join 4C for Children for a community gathering that intends to share final reflections on the past 50 years and focus forward to the future. Guests will meet supporters who have helped cement 4C for Children’s legacy, as well as those who will carry the mantel of new work and innovations to come.
“4C for Children has had an immeasurable influence on the state of early childhood education in our region,” says Brian Judkins, executive committee member of the 4C for Children Board of Trustees, and counsel, Chemed Corporation. “To be sure, there is much that still must be done, but we are pleased to take this moment to celebrate all that this agency, our volunteers and supporters have accomplished in the name of early education and care.”
