Child abuse is a sensitive topic where there is harm or the potential for harm to an individual ages zero to 18.
According to the CDC, child abuse and neglect are “serious public health problems and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).” [The abuse] can have long-term impacts on health, opportunity, and wellbeing.
4C for Children supports early childhood educators as they navigate this sensitive topic and create a safe and nurturing place for all children to learn and grow. The agency offers training that meets licensing requirements of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS).
By learning about child abuse, early childhood educators can better understand their responsibility for children in their care and access the tools and resources they need to reach out to and help an abused child or abusive parents or guardians.
