Ohio Providers: News for the Week of August 24

    August 24, 2020

Read our weekly newsletter for Southwest Ohio and Miami Valley Child Care Providers for the week of August 24, 2020.

The 2020 4C for Children Leadership and Early Childhood Conference Is Going Virtual!

The 4C for Children Conference Planning Team has been working hard to design an innovative experience for early childhood professionals so you can get the quality professional development, inspiration and networking that you have come to expect from our annual conference while remaining healthy and safe.

As a result, we are launching a virtual conference experience this year using the Whova app! From Oct. 22-24 you will have the opportunity to earn Ohio Approved credit by attending inspiring keynote addresses and interactive training sessions each day. You will also be able to virtually meet up with your peers to chat, share ideas, and even meet face-to-face over Zoom.

And there’s more! You can “wander the halls” of our virtual Exhibitor Fair, interacting with representatives of companies and organizations that support the work of early childhood programs. They’ll still offer raffles, discounts on products and more of the fun you have come to expect from the conference each year.

Be on the lookout for more information. Registration opens September 8!

Response to the ODJFS Market Rate Survey Requested by Sept. 13

You should have received an email from ODJFS recently asking for your participation in the 2020 Market Rate Survey. Completing this survey is vital to ensure that ODJFS has a true representation of the current child care market. ODJFS is asking all providers to complete this survey regardless of whether you provide publicly funded child care. Use the secure link in the email you received to complete the confidential survey by Sept. 13.

If you are having problems accessing the survey or have other questions, please contact Strategic Research Group at 2020mrs@websrg.com or 1-800-341-3660. You can also check out the Frequently Asked Questions page at http://www.websrg.com/odjfsFAQ.

Representatives from the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA) will lead this informative session and will answer questions live during the session. Register here.

Face Mask 1New FAQ Document from ODH About Face Shields

From the Ohio Department of Health: “COVID-19 is believed to spread mainly from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person—sometimes without showing any symptoms—coughs, sneezes, or talks. Research has shown that cloth face coverings can block these respiratory droplets. To help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Ohio, face coverings, with some exceptions, are required in public places and in K-12 schools. Face shields have not been shown to be an adequate substitute.” For more information, download this FAQ sheet.

Free Webinar from PNC and Sesame Street: E is for Early Education
