The One-Star Tool for Family Child Care (www.4cforchildren.org/getmystar) is now live on the 4C for Children website. It offers the opportunity for unrated child care professionals to independently navigate the steps needed to apply for a one-star Step Up To Quality rating. Kentucky Child Care Assistance Program Rate Changes
The Kentucky Cabinet for Health & Family Services Division of Child Care is going to raise child care provider rates on December 1. A notice was sent out late Wednesday that stated that rates would be raised to the 40th percentile of market rates reflected in the market survey published earlier this year. Get to Know the Council for Professional Recognition
4C for Children will welcome Dr. Valora Washington, CEO of the Council for Professional Recognition, as the Saturday morning keynote speaker of the 4C Leadership and Early Childhood Conference, presented by Positive Leaps, on October 27.

Big Day for 25 Child Care Providers
In Southwest Ohio on May 1, there were:
- 743 Family Child Care providers who serve more than 8,000 children
- Of those 743, a mere 74 were Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) quality rated, with most taking a year or more to achieve a quality star.
