Council for Professional Recognition logo4C for Children will welcome Dr. Valora Washington, CEO of the Council for Professional Recognition, as the Saturday morning keynote speaker of the 4C Leadership and Early Childhood Conference, presented by Positive Leaps, on October 27.

“I’m so excited to be a keynote speaker at the 4C Grow the Good—Cultivating a Powerful Profession conference Oct. 26-27. I look forward to seeing you at this wonderful event. We are certainly cultivating tomorrow’s leaders today in early childhood settings throughout the U.S. and the world. Reaching our full potential as early educators also means we deserve broad and deep public investment and greater respect for our work. I can’t wait to talk with you more about this important subject,” shared Dr. Washington. 4C is grateful to the Council for Professional Recognition for sponsoring Dr. Washington’s keynote address.

What is the Council for Professional Recognition?

The Council works to ensure that all professional early childhood educators and caregivers meet the developmental, emotional, and educational needs of our nation’s youngest children. In keeping with its goal to meet the growing need for qualified early child care and education staff, the Council administers the Child Development Associate® (CDA) National Credential. The CDA is designed to assess and credential early childhood education professionals.

The Council recognizes and credentials professionals who work in all types of early care and education programs—Head Start, pre-k, infant-toddler, family child care, and home visitor programs.

The Council sets policies and procedures for assessment and credentialing, publishes the Competency Standards and other materials used for CDA credentialing, and administers the assessment. You can learn more on their website: https://www.cdacouncil.org/about/the-council
