Resources for Child Care Providers to Promote Lifelong Learning

          May 23, 2023

Building Brain Activities  children playing with toys

Children learn and practice important executive function skills through games and playful activities. For babies and toddlers, play can start to build brain architecture and the foundation to lifelong learning and healthy development. Use the tools in the 4C for Children quality practices library to support the following skills:

          • Focus attention
          • Strengthen working memory
          • Develop self-control

4C for Children also provide free learn through play calendars each month to help child care providers and families navigate these important stages of a child’s life. For more activity ideas, the Center for Developing Child provides handouts for infants, toddlers and children.

Language and Literacy: Free Supplemental Curriculum

Take recent research on intentional systematic language and literacy and put it into practice in your programs by using Read It Again, an easy-to-follow free curriculum supplement for preschoolers, toddlers and infants. Use this resource to enhance the work already taking place in your program.
