    August 8, 2023

Colleen Swanson 4C for Children CFO

Swanson Brings Deep Experience with Nonprofit Financial Operations

CINCINNATI: 4C for Children has appointed Colleen Swanson to the role of chief financial officer in an effort to lead the organization’s financial goals of helping more families find quality child care.

Swanson has 17 years of finance and accounting experience most recently as senior audit manager at VonLehman CPA and Advisory Firm, one of the largest private CPA and advisory firms in Greater Cincinnati. As CFO, Swanson will oversee all aspects of 4C for Children’s financial operations including controllership, treasury, annual budgeting, and long-range planning.

“Colleen has a strong track record of delivering success,” says Vanessa Freytag, president and CEO, 4C for Children. “We are eager to benefit from her depth of experience in finance and accounting as our organization continues to pursue top talent and sharpen our industry practices.

“Colleen is a highly regarded professional in the nonprofit community through both her work in auditing many of our region’s largest agencies and her volunteer work with Ohio Valley Voices, Back2Back Ministries, Welcome House of Northern Kentucky and Boone County CASA.”

4C for Children helps more than 100,000 Southwest Ohio and Miami Valley families with critical child care resources every year. The organization supports child care providers with access to training opportunities, coaching and other resources in their pursuit of providing the best possible early childhood education services.

“4C for Children has an important role in our community – the goal of providing every child with quality child care and early childhood education,” says Swanson. “I am thrilled for the opportunity to play a part in 4C for Children’s overall mission, especially as it relates to the organization’s financial health and our ability to maximize program and donor dollars for the good of the community as a whole.”

Swanson holds an MBA in accounting from Indiana Wesleyan University and a BA in finance from Northern Kentucky University.
