            Update for Ohio Providers: ODJFS Toolkit; Re-opening Coaching Next Week

            Here’s a quick snapshot of the latest resources and information we have today, May 22, 2020.

            ODJFS Toolkit Available

            ODJFS has developed a Transitional Pandemic Child Care Toolkit to assist programs in their reopening efforts. Several items have been added to the toolkit including a document on “Using Dividers to Create Separate Spaces in Child Care Centers” as well as a recording of the “Child Care, Mental Health and COVID-19” training. The following additional guidance will be added in the next week.

            • staff/child ratios and group size
            • portable sinks
            • a crosswalk of the transitional child care rules with best practices, and
            • a recorded training on “Best Practices for Child Care Programs During COVID-19.”

            Coaching Sessions Focused on Re-opening

            4C for Children is partnering with Southwest Ohio AEYC and the Montgomery County Preschool Promise to deliver a four-day Zoom series of focused work groups for providers preparing to re-open programs. These work groups will take place next Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and will cover the following topics:

            Tuesday: Classroom Redesign
            Wednesday: Staffing
            Thursday: Clean, Sanitize, and Supplies
            Friday: COVID-19 Planning

            Ohio Legislative Children’s Caucus Panel Webinar
            Friday, May 22 | 3-4 p.m.
            The Ohio Legislative Children’s Caucus will host this opportunity to hear from a panel of child care experts and state policymakers as they discuss the needs of Ohio’s child care system and the ways the legislature can support children and families. Register here.

            Virtual Coaching Next Week

            Join 4C for Children coaches and your peers each week for Wednesday Mid-Week Meetups and Free-4-All-Fridays. These virtual coaching sessions for administrators are free and hosted via Zoom. Once you register, you’ll be sent a link to join the session. Here’s what’s happening this week:
