4C for Children wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to the community members who have helped us meet the needs of those impacted by the Memorial Day tornadoes that struck the Miami Valley.
Because of your support, 4C has been able to provide clothing, hygiene necessities, and art supplies to child care providers in the region as well as with the children and families they serve.
A large portion of the donations were a result of 4C for Children’s association with the national Child Care Aware of America network, which, among many other things, provides disaster recovery services and resources to those in the child care arena. They facilitated the donation of the following items that we have in turn delivered to those affected by the storm:
- 24,000 diapers
- 62,000 wipe containers
- 11,000 pull ups
- 400 shampoo/conditioners
- 400 body washes
Donations from the community also provided 88 children who lost their homes to the storm with at least five outfits along with new socks, underwear, and flip flops. Enough art supplies were donated that 4C coaches were able to put together large bags of art and school supplies for 53 child care centers and family child care homes.
We are so grateful for the generosity shown to child care programs and the many young children in their care. Thank you to everyone who donated for their support to help children get back to what they do best—learning through play!
