Child Care In Ohio: Today and In the Future
First and foremost, as of March 19, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has not announced the mandated closing of child care programs in the state. But this doesn’t mean that it won’t happen in the near future. Anticipating that announcement, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) is implementing emergency action to help ensure that those parents who work in the health, safety, and essential service fields during this COVID-19 pandemic have safe, healthy child care options.
Included in the state’s plan is the creation Pandemic Child Care Centers for the children of these essential workers throughout the state. We are awaiting more details about how families can access this care.
