High-quality care for a developing child makes all the difference. It supports and nurtures the growth of early learning and emotional development and strengthens the relationships children make with other children and adults.
4C for Children lead specialist Tracy Schnirring recently coached a child care program that went the extra mile and increased their Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) rating to ensure that children in their care are receiving enhanced learning opportunities.
Tracy shares the impressive journey Creative Beginning Learning Center and their staff have completed.
“Creative Beginning Learning Center went from a one-star quality program to a three-star high-quality program in about six months,” Tracy proudly reports. “They were very intentional every step of the way.”
What makes this truly amazing is it typically takes one to three years for a program to increase a SUTQ rating by two stars.
Achieving a SUTQ rating means that child care programs are going beyond general licensing standards and are committed to continuous improvement. This helps the program provide the best possible early education and care, which sets the foundation for children’s future success.
“Through this process they were very proud to see evidence of growth within the program and in the staff,” Tracy says. “That growth is then reflected in the early education and care the staff provide to the children in their care.
By supporting 4C for Children this helps ensure child care providers like Creative Beginning Learning Center have the resources and tools they need to excel and grow. Quality care makes the difference for every child.
