Wonder, Awe, and Action: Fostering Morality, Ethics and Spirituality in Early Childhood

Historically, adults have rarely believed young children to be capable of forming the types of “rational” thought usually deemed necessary for experiencing and understanding spirituality, morality, and ethical action in a meaningful way. This workshop will help participants to develop a better understanding of the capacity that all children have to experience wonder; to evaluate social interactions for moral and ethical value; to help children discover their relationship to self, others, and the world and to be empathic, caring individuals; and to support children as they grow as spiritual, moral, and ethical actors in their own lives.
