Description:
In this interactive, workshop style training, attendees will reflect on their practice and learn about the critical elements of the Science of Reading present in their existing teaching strategies. We will discuss the five pillars for the Science of Reading–Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Reading Comprehension–through the Simple View of Reading. We will discuss and explore ways to build these skills through the five early literacy practices–Talk, Read, Write, Sing, Play–to support the development of critical skills for all children.
