Description:
There has been a great deal of discussion in early childhood care and education about ‘process’ vs. ‘product’ art. We understand that process art is more appropriate and meaningful to young children but how do we become intentional in our efforts to provide a variety of art and sensory experiences everyday? In this training, participants will be able to identify skills acquired through art and sensory play as well as engage in multiple art and sensory experiences. Participants will also become more confident in how to speak with children about their art. Activities will be focused on children 2 1/2-6 years old, but most can be extended/modified for older children. Be prepared to get messy and have fun!
