Whova App: Frequently Asked Questions

What is Whova?

Whova is a virtual event platform that is allowing us to create the 4C for Children Leadership and Early Childhood Conference experience on the web!

With Whova, you can:

  • view keynote speaker presentations and break out sessions live;
  • network with other early childhood professionals via chat or live video meetings; and
  • “wander” the exhibitor booths and interact with different companies and services that might be able to help meet your early childhood program’s needs.

You can access the Whova app via a web/internet browser, or by downloading the free app from your app store. Use the email address you used to register the conference to create your profile and join the 4C for Children Conference in the app.

How do I log in to Whova?

Once your registration and payment has been processed by 4C for Children staff, you will receive an email with instructions on using Whova. Use the email address you used to register the conference to create your profile in Whova.

You can use the Whova app via a web/internet browser, or by downloading the free app from your app store. Go to this link for the How To Guide on downloading Whova. Visit this link for a guide on how to use the different features in the app.

Send an email to conference@4cforchildren.org if you need the access code for the conference.

How do I register for a session?

You may attend one session per time slot over the three days of the conference, as your schedule allows. Sign up for all the time slots, or just a couple—whatever best fits your needs. Please note: Attendance will be taken in each session, including the keynotes. You must attend a session live to receive Ohio Approved credit.

In order to ensure the ability for participants to interact with each other and with presenters, break out session capacity is limited.  To secure your spot in a session, enroll by adding the session to your agenda using the Whova app. Visit https://whova.com/resources/how-to-guide/user-tutorial/ and click on “Agenda” for step-by-step instructions.

Keynote session capacity is not limited, but we encourage you to add the one(s) you will attend to your agenda. In the app you can ask questions about sessions ahead of time, and receive reminders when the speakers are about to go live so you don’t miss them.

Where are the session handouts?

You can access break out session handouts by clicking on the title of the session in Whova. If there are handouts available, you can download them from the main page of that session.

How do I get credit for a session?

Attendance will be recorded in each session by 4C staff. This includes the keynote sessions. You must attend a session live to receive Ohio Approved credit. You will receive credit for each session you attend live.

Attendance will be awarded in the Ohio Professional Registry within five business days. If you have more questions, contact registrar@4cforchildren.org.

Capacity in break out sessions is limited. To secure your spot in a break out session, make sure to add it to your agenda in the Whova app.

What do I do if I have trouble accessing the live sessions?

Contact conference@4cforchildren.org and our tech support will be happy to help!
