CINCINNATI (September

The

1,800 early care and education options throughout the 23
counties served by 4C in Southwest Ohio, the Miami
Valley and Northern Kentucky. For a complete listing of these 23
counties. This resource also provides important
information for parents of children from birth to
school-age on how to best support their child's
development and how to choose a quality child care
program.
"We want to share
this great information with every parent of a young
child,"says Sallie Westheimer, 4C president/CEO.
"Together with Success By 6® and ReadySetSoar, we
believe this free guide is a critical tool in helping
parents help each child live up to his or her fullest
potential."
A guide article, "Looking for
Child Care"...
- encourages parents to "reach
for the stars" by paying attention to state
quality-rating systems (Step Up To Quality in Ohio and
STARS for KIDS NOW in
Kentucky).
- provides information about
selecting a child care option for a child with special
needs.
- offers resources to families
who need help paying for child
care.
Another guide article provides
information on kindergarten readiness and how to prepare
a child for school. For additional resources such as tips on
helping children get to bed and signing kids up for
sports, parents are referred to the 4C Web
site.
Selected guide information in
Spanish is also available on the 4C Web
site:
Westheimer urges parents in
Southwest Ohio, the Miami Valley and Northern Kentucky
