Digi Schueler: A 2011 'Champion for Children'
Digi France Schueler’s career in department store merchandising landed her in Cincinnati in 1989 when moved here from Houston by Lazarus (now Macy’s). Her previous membership in the Junior League provided a bridge to volunteering in her new hometown—and she has been volunteering ever since.
As Junior League Community Outreach Vice President, she served on boards and chaired events for many Cincinnati organizations focused on children: the Domestic Violence Sub-Committee on Children, Children’s Defense Fund Partners, Hamilton County Youth Conference and the Southwest Ohio Children’s Coalition (SWOCC). She also served as chair for the Children Defense Fund Beat the Odds Luncheon, program chair for the Foster Child Enrichment Council of the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Service and Youth Opportunities United “Swingin and Cruisin” Committee. An Enquirer Woman of the Year (2005), she has been and continues to be fully engaged with the Cincinnati Symphony, Playhouse in the Park, the YWCA, the Warren County United Way, Dress for Success and Caracole.
Digi brought her broad experience with children’s issues to her service on the 4C for Children Board of Trustees (2004-10), and she cochaired the first 4C Champions for Children Gala in 2006. She currently serves as a board member of Every Child Succeeds where she cochairs their “Bring Books to Babes” program.
Digi is married to Michael Schueler. Their family consists of Mike’s three daughters, Digi’s three stepchildren from a previous marriage and 12 grandchildren.
Other honorees include Eric Kearney and Toyota.
For an honor roll of past 4C Champions for Children.
