Lois Rosenthal, Champion for Children, dies at 75
July 24, 2014
In the many tributes that have followed the July 20 death of Lois Rosenthal, she has been called many things: arts patron, philanthropist, community volunteer. But 4C will always remember her as a “Champion for Children.” She and husband Dick were honored together as Champions for Children by 4C in 2007.
Among Lois’s many contributions to the Cincinnati community, 4C particularly noted the establishment of Uptown Arts, a program that offers free classes in music, acting, dance and art to children between age 5 to 10, along with support of the Rosey Reader program that provided books to young children in the Cincinnati Public Schools.
As reported in the obituary in The Cincinnati Enquirer, a memorial service will be held Sept. 15 at 4:30 pm in the Marx Theater at The Playhouse in the Park at 962 Mount Adams Circle. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
